What do I do for an NSF (non-sufficient findings) exam?

Summary
Still process the patient as a new patient, but override the Medisoft charge to zero and do not bill or lien. If there are no exam findings, no x-rays, therapies, or take-home cold pack are provided.
- 1Process the patient as a new patient: sign-in, Appointment Book, new-patient count, and patient number.
- 2Once the doctor examines the patient, maintain records for seven years.

- 3In Medisoft, go to Activities menu > Enter Transactions, select the patient's Chart and Case, click the exam charge line in the Charges grid, type 0.00 in the Amount field, then click Save Transactions.
